The Sarmento Methodology™

A different way to understand movement, behavior and human potential.

  • Built from years of watching how neurodivergent minds actually move, learn and connect.
  • Applied across Jiu-Jitsu, education and professional training.
The Sarmento Methodology

How the methodology took shape

Not built in a classroom. Built on the mat, one athlete at a time.

  1. Stage 01

    Observation

Marcio began noticing that standard instruction didn't reach every student the same way.

  2. Stage 02

    Adaptation

Small changes in language, pacing and structure started producing very different results.

  3. Stage 03

    Pattern

Across dozens of students, four consistent stages emerged: Understand, Embrace, Include, Transform.

  4. Stage 04

    Formalization

Those stages became a repeatable framework, tested across ages, diagnoses and settings.

  5. Stage 05

    Expansion

What worked for one child on one mat became something other instructors and professionals could learn.

The Sarmento Methodology™

Four stages. One consistent path.

Every program, class and course we build follows the same underlying structure.

01 — Understand

We start by observing how each person actually moves, communicates and regulates — before assuming anything.

02 — Embrace

Differences aren't corrected, they're worked with. The method adapts to the person, not the reverse.

03 — Include

Skills built on the mat are designed to transfer — into classrooms, homes and everyday interactions.

04 — Transform

Progress is measured in confidence, independence and connection, not just technique.
